May begins with early observations…

…there is still a haze over the fields as the sun rises. The wildlife is coming to life everywhere, even in our local pond where the amphibians are busy. I find the young foxes on a walk through the forest and, as they are not yet afraid, I manage to get some close-up shots with the pocket camera. Elsewhere, the wildlife camera captures the hawk on its prey. The hares are mating in the meadows and the geese are tending to their young on the water. We soon gather again to rescue the fawns in time for the first grass cutting. Unfortunately, one of the young hares had been caught and was being used as food by the crow.
